Reading women given creative choices
Women in Reading have been presented with creative choices thanks to a series of arts and drama workshops.

The scheme, dubbed Voice to the Voiceless, has been targeted at disadvantaged people who may otherwise have not thought about a career in performing arts, getreading.co.uk reported.

Members of Reading Churches Women's Centre marked their efforts with a performance of Snow White at the town's Wesley Methodist Church.

The Pilgrim Hearts Trust, which champions creative arts among marginalised individuals, organised the event alongside poet Sarah De Nordwall.

Elaine Chalmers-Brown, of the organisation, told the website: 'The panto and the entire project was a lot of fun. Using the creative arts we helped everybody have a good time while discovering more about themselves.'

Each workshop taking place before the pantomime focused on the role of women in society throughout history.

A cast of 25 took part in the production, which was attended by approximately 60 audience members.

Elsewhere in Reading, Testing Grounds, an experimental art event, will be taking place in South Street on Saturday (February 13th).ADNFCR-1392-ID-19602575-ADNFCR
