Responsibilities

All theatrical performances such as plays, musicals, TV or film productions rely on scenery, props and costumes to make them a success.

Wardrobe assistants might be involved in designing, making or acquiring costumes and accessories or looking after them during the run of a show.

Wardrobe assistants might also be required to act as dressers, allocated to one or more actors to help them get ready for the performance. This means working very closely with their actor, and they need tact and patience to maintain calm and respect modesty.

Ensuring that clothes are cleaned and in good condition for future performances.
