Focus on Wales

 

Wales Millennium Centre  Culture, creativity and performing talent have long served to identify Wales both to itself and the wider world. Now, in the increasingly post-industrial Wales of the 21st Century, the ‘creative industries’ are also recognised as a driver of future economic growth and the creation of high quality employment.

Creative & Cultural Skills, in collaboration with employers, unions, government and education, has worked to produce 'Creative Blueprint, Wales' – a plan of action for the creative and cultural industries.

• 1,695 businesses
• contribute £454m GVA to the UK economy
• by 2014, 5,000 more jobs will be created, 50% due to expansion
• 16% have found difficulty with recruitment.
