Branding/Packaging agency require Creative Director
Our client, a brand design consultancy, is looking to recruit a Head of Design.
Their client list includes global giants such as Nestle, Pepsico and Reckitt Benckiser, as well as a long list of other household FMCG names. They are currently undertaking projects as far afield as the US, Russia and China.
We are looking for a highly conceptual, ideas driven and innovative Head of Design to join the management team and be part of a growing and developing company.
You will help drive innovation and be highly involved in the continued development of the unique visual creation process.
You’ll be responsible for the creative output by overseeing brand design projects. You will also give creative direction and coaching to a team of designers and freelance designers, by inspiring and guiding them to create stunning ideas; and craft high-quality design work that will either help a client’s brand evolve or will drive innovative brand ideas to succeed.
We are looking for someone who can excite and inspire the entire business with different approaches, knowledge and contacts. This is a chance to break the rules and create a different kind of creative set up.
Alongside your creative input, you will contribute commercially by taking an active role in new business pitches and reporting into the board on commercial and creative KPIs.
The role requires is a close working relationship with our teams of creative strategists and project managers. The agency is very much about teamwork and we are not precious as to where ideas come from.
£45000 - £65000 per year depending on experience
Person specification - It would be beneficial to have a degree in Product Design, Industrial Design or Design Management. - You will be a great advocate and practitioner of Design Thinking. - You’ll have at least 6 years design experience in a leading design consultancy. You’re a quick thinker, full of ideas, able to get to the heart of a problem fast. Packaging experience would be a huge advantage. - You’ll have experience in working on FMCG innovation projects, used to providing authoritative and thought-provoking input and ideas in client workshops. - You are confident, gregarious, enthusiastic, calm under pressure and passionate about design. - You’ll be a great people manager, good at leading, inspiring and coaching a team of designers. - You’ll embrace the culture of a team of people who are always striving to improve and be the first to disrupt current thinking with simple and clear solutions - You should also have access to a car.
