Exciting opportunity to work with experienced team on research, archival and exhibition project for Hand Engravers Association.
The Project Assistant will assist the Project Manager and liaise with the Project Director and Co-Director in mounting an exhibition, running workshops and undertaking an archival history project with volunteers. This post is part-time for a minimum of 35 days over six months from June to December 2012.
The Project Assistant must be available to work flexibly from own base with some periods of more concentrated work in June, July and October 2012. She/he needs to be computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
It is desirable that she/he has an organised, flexible and pro-active work style; good interpersonal skills with experience of projects requiring team work; good oral and written communication skills; eye for detail; and is numerate with experience of using of databases, organising and undertaking mailings and working with volunteers.
Working with the Project Manager the key responsibilities will be to set up, maintain and use a project database; organise and undertake postal and email mailings; disseminate information via websites; liaise with volunteers and oral history interviewees to make appointments; keep accurate financial records for project; print out and collate material for workshops; collect data for evaluation report.
