Saatchi Gallery hosts craft show
Craftscotland will showcase the work of nine craft makers during the Collect 2010 fair at the Saatchi Gallery next month.

From May 14th until 17th, the gallery will host the work of 36 galleries from around the world and the artists that contribute to that work.

Makers from Scotland will show highlights of the contemporary craft coming from the country, including work in jewellery, ceramics, textiles, metal and glass.

Work will be portrayed through one main theme, The Narrative Environment, encompassing three themes of nature, fantasy and architecture and how the Scottish artists respond to them.

According to Craftscotland, 'contemporary techniques and materials will be placed alongside traditional methods to explore the stark parallels between a natural landscape and an industrial, man-made environment where childhood fantasy becomes the alternative middle ground'.

This will be the second year that the Saatchi Gallery has hosted the event, which is organised by the Craft Council, after five years held at the V&A museum.
