Glass makers will be out in force next month for the British Glass Biennale.
From August 27th until September 11th, 62 artists will have the opportunity to display and sell their work in the exhibition alongside 19 established makers.
A jury selected the artists, nine of which are students, to display 96 pieces. A total of 449 were entered for the competition.
It comes as part of the fourth
International Festival of Glass event in Stourbridge, which includes glass master classes and events.
Jackie Lee, relationship manager in visual arts at Arts Council England (ACE), commented: 'The festival has grown in importance over the years and is the result of strong collaboration between the Ruskin Glass Centre and a range of local and national partner organisations.
'The Biennale is a great opportunity to see high quality contemporary work in a venue that has such a rich glass heritage and identity.'
ACE and the National Lottery have provided GBP 60,000 of funding for the festival.
