Two women who founded the Asian performing arts company
Tamasha have been recognised with a First Women Award.
Sudha Bhuchar and Kristine Landon-Smith won the tourism and leisure category at the event last week (June 23rd).
It comes as the London-based company celebrates its 21st year.
The women were commended for bringing contemporary work of Asian influence to the British stage, supporting and highlighting British Asian talent.
In a statement they said: 'Being recognised by the First Women Award is a great highlight of our busy 21st birthday year.
'It is a huge reward which adds to the satisfaction we achieve from developing theatre-makers of the future and bringing Asian stories to the stage.'
First Women recognises women leaders at the top of their profession from a range of industries.
Also nominated in the tourism and leisure category was creative leader Deborah Bull, the chief executive of the Royal Opera House.
