ACE CEO warns of 10% cuts
Alan Davey, chief executive of Arts Council England, has written a letter this week to all regularly funded organisations, warning them that they will likely receive a ten per cent budget cut.

It comes after the government imposed cuts on all departments, leading the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to propose cuts of 25-30 per cent to the council.

Mr Davey wrote: 'Given the economic climate, and the fact we have been asked to model a reduction of up to 30 per cent over four years, we are now asking you to model prudently for a minimum of a ten per cent reduction in your funding for 2011/12.

'This figure is not final, but we suggest it is a reasonable figure for you to address at this point.'

However, the cultural leader stressed that because it is not yet confirmed how much will be cut from the council's or the culture department's budget, he could not confirm how much organisations will see removed from their spending.ADNFCR-1392-ID-800002001-ADNFCR
